Nanoparticle tracking analysis (NTA)
Exosomes are extracellular vesicles (EVs) released by cells into biological fluids and conditioned cell culture media. Cell Guidance System has a range of products dedicated to the study of exosomes, including purification kits, analysis and NTA service.
The “nanoparticle tracking system” (NTA) method allows to determine the dimensions of nanoparticles with precision and reproducibility from the study of the Brownian motion of each individual particle, making it a suitable method for the characterization of exosomes.
Service requirements:
- Sample type: exosomes purified from cell culture media or any other biological fluid. We recommend purifying intact exosomes using the Exo-spin™ exosome isolation kit resuspended in PBS. Ideally, exosome samples should not be purified using precipitation reagents alone as these may interfere with the NTA reading.
- Minimum volume of 100 µl of concentrated sample per measurement, regardless of its origin.
- Biosafety Level BSL-1 and BSL-2 samples free of human pathogens are accepted (requires CLIA-certified laboratory PCR confirmation).
- Mycoplasma-free sample (confirmation by PCR or equivalent).
