Lipid Nanoparticles

Lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) have gained great importance in nanomedicine as effective delivery systems for various therapies, including mRNA-based vaccines and gene therapies. LNPs are self-assembled structures composed of lipids that form nanometer-sized particles. LNPs serve as versatile carriers of:

• nucleic acids (mRNA and oligonucleotides)
• peptides and small molecules
• proteins

Depending on the physicochemical properties of the LNP, such as charge, dimensions and surface of the particles, it is possible to modulate and achieve the discharge of the formulation (cargo) into the cell or tissue of interest. There are several parameters to optimize in order to achieve an effective system, which also adapts to the properties of the cargo (such as charge and solubility). Thanks to Diversa Technologies and Cayman Chemicals, two of our principals with extensive experience in lipids and nanotechnology, we have formulated and validated LNPs for the transport and delivery of molecules in in vitro and in vivo applications. With this service we offer the co-development of lipid nanoparticles to adjust the formulation, lipid ratio, packaging… to the needs of your project. We help you to:

• Formulate the nanoparticle composition specific for the cargo to be distributed (lipids and ratio).
• Functionalize the exterior of the LNP, for example by conjugating antibodies, peptides or other molecules to the exterior of the particle.
• Add fluorescent marker to track LNP and/or loading.
• GMP grade formulations.
