Can SpheroTribe affect cell physiology?
SpheroTribe solution is composed of methylcellulose, a cellulose derivative that is known to be biologically inert, i.e. it does not actively contribute to or interfere with biological responses. It is used especially in various biofabrication tools, including bioinks. In addition, SpheroTribe allows cells to be cultured without exogenous ECM components, avoiding the known bias they can have on cell signaling.
If necessary, methylcellulose can be easily washed off at any stage of the protocol to leave spheroids available for subsequent assays (i.e. fluorescence imaging).
With which cells has the SpheroTribe been tested?
