Colagenases
Collagenase, obtained from Clostridium histolyticum, is an enzyme used for in vitro tissue dissociation and therefore for the isolation of many different types of cells. These isolated cells are subsequently used for numerous clinical and research applications.
Since 2002, Nordmark Arzneimittel GmbH & Co. KG has been producing various Collagenase NB. All production steps are carried out in accordance with current international GMP guidelines.
Our GMP compliant NB collagenase qualities for cell isolation for use in a clinical setting meet the highest possible safety specifications.
Currently, the use of NB collagenase has been widely used in the fields of regenerative medicine and tissue engineering. Human cells are isolated and cultured and subsequently destined for transplantation into humans, either for regeneration purposes or to replace damaged tissue.
Some examples of cell types used in the clinical setting:
- Pancreatic islets of Langerhans.
- Cartilage cells.
- Liver cells.
- Cells of the skin (for example, fibroblasts).
- Stem cells from adipose, placental or umbilical cord tissue.
