The hematopoietic progenitors express on their surface the glycoprotein CD34 or sialomucin. This antigen is involved in the localization and the adhesion of hematopoietic progenitors in their niche, the bone marrow. During the hematopoietic differentiation, the marker CD34 expression is lost. Biowest produced by ABCell-Bio offers CD34+ cells isolated by immuno-magnetic selection from human umbilical cord blood. The purity of CD34+ is greater than 95%. The capacity of these cells to self-renew or differentiate into mature cells of different lineages were tested using appropriate combinations of cytokines.
